GiveIt Forms Integration
Charity Toolkit has developed GiveIt Forms, a system-agnostic form building tool for charities. An intuitive, configuration-rich building interface for admins and beautiful, flexible experiences for your users (donors/volunteers/ staff...whoever!)

Create your account and subscribe to Charity Toolkit's GiveIt Forms product to begin building forms immediately.
Connect forms to CRM systems to unlock their field packs, preview and tweak designs with a library of preset themes, and embed your forms directly on your website - no iframes or off-site redirects incurred. Your online data collection experience is instantly more streamlined and stylised.
Use advanced features like cloning shortcuts, field rendering configurations, dynamic field population, multi-context payments, cost coverage, anonymous donations and more...
CRM support
GiveIt Forms connects directly with choice CRM systems to adequately format, map and forward data. That begins with dedicated field sets in our intuitive and attractive UI; your database managers and finance teams will feel the benefit or enriched data immediately.
Transactions
Integrate with Stripe, Paypal and GoCardless to collect uniquely mapped payments for donations and purchases. Sell event tickets with caps, configure purchase items with stock levels, and auto-close forms with deadlines; you've got total control over the full payment context of your forms.
Customisations
GiveIt Forms embed with beautiful preset themes you can match to suit your brand. Or, set a form to the Vanilla theme and your web team can totally customise every aspect of it. The Charity Toolkit team can step in and build bespoke designs too - we know the GiveIt Forms product inside out and have 20 years design background under our belt.
Bonus Features
Shortcuts and extra configurations make building forms and interacting with them painless. Try Profiles, our dynamic adjustment tool to change payment contexts and settings for front-end donation forms on the fly. Try Doorways to let donors kick off their donations on other pages before they reach the complete form.
Clone mappings, auto-generate external keys, raise funds in memory, display Totalisers... there's loads packed into GiveIt Forms
Like all Charity Toolkit products GiveIt Forms is available on subscription. There are three price bands to choose from, each offering more features.
Please note, Charity Toolkit does not collect fees per transaction it processes, nor does it present tipping or self-interested donation mechanics to your users. The monthly operational subscription is all we charge.
Got a question? Want to know more about the integration? Take a look at the topics below to learn more.
At present, GiveIt Forms supports single account access.
Charity Toolkit does not collect fees per transaction it processes, nor does it present tipping or self-interested donation mechanics to your users. The monthly operational subscription is all we charge.
Third party platforms and services associated with this product will likely themselves charge you for their use - always check their terms.
This integration can only connect the necessary systems with authorisation established through their respective API configurations. The credentials (and some customisation settings where applicable) needed to do this need to be shared with us so we can properly associate the integration with your Charity Toolkit account
If you don’t have these details available at the point of registration a member of the Charity Toolkit team will be in touch shortly after your registration to guide you on obtaining them.
At present, GiveIt Forms connects to Donorfy and Third Sector Bee, with more system connections on the way.
GiveIt Forms offers preset themes to style your forms with out of the box, plus several more become available at each price band. New themes are released regularly too.
The default theme is named Vanilla and with this, styling can be introduced directly by the website where your forms get embedded - your web team can make all sorts of customisations (up to a point, naturally. Certain aspects of a form, particularly its behaviour, ought to be left untouched to not risk introducing faults. Experimentation is encouraged!).
Alternately, Charity Toolkit offer a bespoke design service to generate custom themes for you and serve them directly from the product, exclusive to your account.
There is a comprehensive video playlist on the Charity Toolkit YouTube channel on how to setup and configure the service, which also includes a breakdown of all the salient fields and their capabilities. We recommend giving that a watch
Totalisers and Sparks both offer live read-outs of donation data that they've recorded. Their recording is initiated the moment they are introduced to your form. Prior to that moment, they won't have recorded anything, so the data of donations already submitted through your form will be absent from their read-outs.
Yes, you can always edit your forms, but be mindful that if you've already embedded your form on a website, the edits you make are instantly adopted by the embed. In some circumstances, it may be wise to use the Clone Form feature, trial your edits in the cloned version, and once you're happy with the edits, either replicate them to the pre-existing form or update your website's embedded form with the cloned one.
GiveIt Forms are embedded to websites using a pair of HTML and script tags. You can add these anywhere into your code files.
If your website uses a CMS you may find you can only embed these tags into particular templates or modules; those named something like "HTML", "Code" or "Embed".
There are a few reasons why the GiveIt Form you've embedded on your website is not appearing:
- If you have any payment-orientated fields in your form (Donations, Items For Sale etc.) you must ensure your form is embedded on a https enabled domain, rather than an older, insecure http one.
- When setting up your GiveIt Forms account you would have designated an authorised domain to keep your account and forms secure. You can only embed forms on pages using this domain.
Charity Toolkit's GiveIt Forms product stores none of the data it processes from submissions, bar internal transmission ID numbers. We keep these numbers for operational purposes and debugging. No identity data from your users is stored.
The data GiveIt Forms takes in differs according to the CRM system connected to each form. Generally you can expect:
- Match evaluation for existing records in your CRM system and record creation where no such match can be made
- Payment transactions associated with CRM system records added.
- Metadata like tagging or grouping associated with CRM system records added.
- Gift Aid inclusion or omission associated with CRM system records added.
- Communication preference inclusion or omission associated with CRM system records added.
To nominate an Anonymous Record for your Donation field you'll need to provide the ID of your anonymous Donorfy record. To find this follow these steps:
- In any Constituent List view in Donorfy, look for the anonymous record in question, but don't click through to visit it.
- Instead, right click on the link to this record and choose your browser's equivalent of "Copy Link Location"
- Paste that link somewhere you can inspect it, such as a Notepad or Word app.
- Inspect the link: you should find a string of random numbers, letters and hyphens positioned between an equals symbol and an ampersand symbol. Copy to clipboard that string (not including the equals and ampersand symbols).
- You now have the Anonymous Record ID; paste this into your GiveIt Forms configuration
If the data in a form submission does not find existing record matches in your CRM system, the integration will create a new record. The matching process typically compares First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Postal Address and Phone Number (though this may vary by CRM system); if there are too many variations between these fields as they appear in the submission data and the CRM system data no match will be found and a new record will be made.
Form submissions are sent and processed in real-time, so it is not possible that duplication will occur.
No. GiveIt Forms processes data in real-time and does not store submission data.
On occasion, CRM systems experience blips which means GiveIt Forms can't reach them, or is interrupted.
If data transmission was partially successful, here are some things to consider:
- If the reason for the failure was poor identity data, GiveIt Forms will endeavour to create a fresh record where an otherwise existing one could have been matched.
- If the reason for the failure was poor transaction data, the integration will skip it and focus on other data packets instead (such as identity data and metadata).
- Double-check what you have configured for the mappings of effected fields. These mappings have to match verbatim, including any empty spaces at the beginning or start of the mapping in your CRM system you may not realise are there.
